  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of seven projects related to urban infrastructure in Bihar on 15 September via video conferencing.

  • Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY), a target to provide 8 crore new LPG connections was fixed and has been achieved in September, 2019. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have issued 1306.87 lakh LPG refills to PMUY beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package(PMGKP) till August, 2020. State/UT-wise details of LPG refill delivered under PMGKP are at annexure.

  • Central Government has constituted an Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) to oversee the process of the corporatisation of the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB).Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is the chairman of this EGoM.

  • Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India and KhoKho Federation of India, which have been given government recognition to promote the sports of Kabaddi and Kho Kho in the country, have been provided with the admissible financial assistance and other support under the various Schemes of the Ministry and the Sports Authority of India.  Further, both Kabaddi and Kho Kho are part of the Khelo India Youth Games.  Kabaddi and Kho Kho are also included in the list of games/sports which qualify the meritorious sportspersons for recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts in Central Government offices.

  • The Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports , Shri Kiren Rijiju  laid Foundation Stones for various sports facilities costing over 12 crore rupees in Leh, Ladakh yesterday in thepresence of Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh,Shri RK Mathur. The Minister laid foundation for a Synthetic Track & Astroturf for football in Lehat  OpenStadium. The estimated project cost is 10.68 crore and scheduled to be completed by January, 2021. Similarly, construction of Gymnasium Hall in NDS indoor stadium would cost about 1.52 crore rupees and construction will be completed by March 2021.

  • Subhash Kamath has been elected as the chairman of the board of governors of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI).


  • NS Rajan, managing director at public relations firm Ketchum Sampark P. Ltd. was elected vice-chairman and Shashidhar Sinha, chief executive, Mediabrands India Pvt. Ltd was reappointed as honorary treasurer.


  • The Central Government sought Parliament’s approval on September 14, 2020, to infuse Rs. 20,000 crores in Public Sector Banks in the current financial year to meet regulatory requirements. The document proposed by the Finance Minister mentioned that the government has asked for the Parliament’s authorization of Rs. 20,000 crores for meeting the expenditure towards recapitalization of Public Sector Banks through the issue of government securities.
